Reiki & IET

Suzanne Stone is a Reiki Master/Instructor & Integrated Energy Therapy Master/Instructor.
This lady is based in County Mayo

Reiki is a healing technique originated from Japan.
It helps to promote healing and relaxation.
It helps to reduce stress too.

Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) is a gently nurturing technique to empower and balance one's life by helping to release the patterns in the past for good.

Suzanne kindly agreed to an interview with me.

What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray Key) is a combination of two Japanese words rei and ki meaning universal life energy.
Reiki is an ancient laying-on of hands healing technique that uses the life force energy to heal, balancing the subtle energies within our bodies.
Reiki addresses physical, emotional, mental and spiritual imbalances.
This healing art is an effective delivery system.
The Reiki practitioner serves as a vessel that supplies healing energies where they are most needed by the recipient.
Reiki's ki-energies flow out of the practitioner's body through the palms of the hands while they are touching the recipient's body.

What Training & Qualifications did you receive?
Reiki is taught in three levels; Reiki I, Reiki II and Reiki III (Reiki Master).
I did my Reiki I and Reiki II with a Reiki Master Marie Young in Clare and then when I moved to Mayo in 2004, I found Reiki Master Bernie Moore, who I did my Reiki III or Reiki Master training with.
The way you learn to use Reiki is by way of attunement from your Reiki Master.
To put it simply, if you can imagine the way you tune a radio to a certain frequency to listen to a certain channel, then being attuned to each level of Reiki, you are attuned to that specific frequency.
This then allows you to access this universal life energy, which you can channel and use during a Reiki session/treatment.

When and why did you decide to learn/teach reiki?
I discovered Reiki and IET quite by chance.
I had quite bad postnatal depression after I had my second daughter.  The doctor wanted me to take anti-depressants and I was keen to try an alternative first.
I came across an advert in the local diary advertising reiki as a way to destress and relax, so I called for an appointment and had great success dealing with my postnatal depression.
The practitioner told me that I could learn to do it and then do self treatments, which would be of benefit to me so then I began looking for a Reiki Master to train with.
I then started my Reiki journey/training  and enjoyed it so much I decided to continue and do Reiki II.
I hadn't really thought about doing Reiki III, which would allow me to teach until I moved to Mayo.
I then met through a friend, the Reiki Master, who I felt would guide me and support me through my studies and completed Reiki III.
It was also through this Reiki Master, that I discovered IET (Integrated Energy Therapy) and have since completed all levels of IET training upto and including IET Master/Instructor.
I have certificates for each level of my Reiki and IET training for each level of both healing systems learnt.

At what cost are your sessions?
A Reiki session costs 50 euro - a first session I would allow between an hour to an hour and a half and any subsequent sessions would generally be an hour.

What does a reiki session involve?
You will be asked to lay down on a massage table, couch, or bed.
You will be fully clothed except for your shoes.
You may also be asked to remove or loosen your belt so that your breathing is not restricted in any way.
It is best to choose loose-fitting garments to wear on the day of your appointment.
Wearing natural fabrics is best (cotton, wool, or linen).
You may also be asked to remove any jewelry (rings, bracelets, pendants, etc.) prior to the session, so consider leaving these items at home.
Reiki practitioners will often create a relaxing atmosphere for their Reiki sessions, setting the mood with the use of dimmed lights, meditative music, or bubbling water fountains.
Some practitioners prefer to be in a place that is completely silent, without distraction of music of any kind, to conduct their Reiki sessions in.
During the Reiki healing session the practitioner will place his hands lightly on different parts of your body.
Some Reiki practitioners will follow a predetermined sequence of hand placements, allowing their hands to rest on each body placement for 2 to 5 minutes before moving on to the next. Empathic practitioners will freely move their hands in no particular order to the areas where they "feel" Reiki is most needed.
Some Reiki practitioners do not actually touch their clients.
Instead, they will hover their lifted palms a few inches above the reclined body. Either way, Reiki energies flow where they are supposed to.
Reiki is a smart energy that automatically flows where the imbalances are in your body regardless of where the practitioner's hands are placed.
Because Reiki energies flow to where they are most needed there is a Reiki phenomenon called phantom hands that you may or may not experience.
Phantom hands feel as if the Reiki practitioner's hands are touching one part of your body when they are actually elsewhere.
For example, you may be able to see that the healer's hands are actually placed on your stomach, but you could swear that hands are touching your legs.
Or, you may feel as if several pairs of hands are on your body at the same time as if several people are in the room with you.

Where do your sessions take place?
I do Reiki sessions either at my own home or at a client's home (if preferred) - all that is needed is a treatment table and a quiet space without interruption.
I have also done treatments in a beauty therapy salon, by appointment.

Are there certain restrictions for people such as age, health issues etc?
I would always tell anyone who is interested in having a Reiki or IET session that they are both complementary therapies and are not intended to replace traditional medicine.
Rather it would be a complementary addition to existing treatment/therapy in place.
Reiki and IET do not 'heal' a person, but give the person the healing energy they need to heal themselves.
Generally a treatment will take place on a therapy table, but obviously if a person has particular conditions which would make this impractical, so it can also be done in a seated position too.

How often should reiki be performed?
When a person comes to have a Reiki/IET session, I would ask them to let me know what they are hoping to achieve from the session and also take a detailed history (which is obviously confidential) prior to any session being commenced.
The amount of sessions required can vary from person to person, so I would never tell someone that they needed x amount of sessions from the word go.

What is IET (Integrated Energy Therapy)?
We call it “Healing with the Energy of Angels”
Integrated Energy Therapy® (IET®) is one of the next generation - hands on - power energy therapy systems that get the “issues out of your tissues” for good! Developed at the Center of Being, by Stevan J. Thayer, IET uses the violet angelic energy ray, as brought to us through the nine Healing Angels of the Energy Field, to work directly with your 12 Strand Spiritual DNA.
IET supports you in safely and gently releasing limiting energy patterns of your past, empowering and balancing your life in the present, and helps you to reach for the stars as you evolve into your future. We chose the term “Integrated” in our name to convey our healing vision of “integrating the pain of the past, into the power of the present, to bring about the joy of the future”.
We have been privileged to see Integrated Energy Therapy live up to this vision.
Integrated Energy Therapy® is ideal for students wanting to begin an energy therapy practice, and also provides a wonderful complement to other holistic techniques such as Massage, Reiki, and Therapeutic Touch.
While IET® is a perfect standalone energy therapy system, it is ideal to integrate IET® into sessions based on other holistic modalities as well as integrate the techniques of other holistic modalities into IET® sessions.
Integrated Energy Therapy® is an attunement based energy therapy system. Each level of our IET® training system contains an energy attunement that works directly with the 12 Strand DNA to expand, realign, and restructure one or more pairs.
Each IET® attunement builds progressively with the others to ultimately bring all six pairs of DNA into their full power.
IET® attunements can only be done by a certified IET® Master-Instructor listed in our International Directory of Master-Instructors and must be done in person (they cannot be done remotely).

What training and qualifications did you receive in IET?
IET is taught in four different levels: Basic, Intermediate, Advanced and Master-Instructor.
I did my first three levels with my Reiki Master and then decided that I wanted to be able to further my studies with IET and completed my Master-Instructor training with Stevan Thayer in Dublin several years ago.

When and why did you decide to learn/teach IET?
I decided to pursue the training in IET as having enjoyed and clicked with Reiki that this was a natural next step.
I have always had a strong belief in Angels and it was not a disappointment.  Both Reiki and IET are very powerful, yet gentle therapies but they do not have to be faith based for them to work.
By that, I mean, you don't have to believe in Universal Energy or Angels for either therapy to work, but it helps if you have an open mind to the possibility of enjoying the session.

What does a IET session involve?
It would be very similar to a Reiki session, again I would allow at least an hour to an hour and half for a first IET session and thereafter an hour.

What are the benefits of IET Sessions?
· Can painlessly release your suppressed feelings and your limiting cellular memories.
· Supports you in enhancing your health, life purpose, prosperity and creativity.
· Empowers you to experience fulfilling loving relationships in all areas of your life.
· Provides gentle yet powerful support for survivors of childhood traumas such as physical and sexual abuse, alcoholic and dysfunctional families.
· Supports your self-healing at all levels, physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.
· Increases your connection to your angels and helps you work with them in your life.
· Helps you to discover and live your Soul’s mission in life.

The Four Levels of IET Practitioners and what they can offer you:
There are four levels of Integrated Energy Therapy® practitioners and each level expands what an IET® practitioner can offer you in their sessions.
Here is a summary of what each level IET session has to offer you.
1.Basic Level IET Sessions – focus on clearing physical and emotional energy blockages from your cellular memory and leave in their place positive empowerment energy imprints.
2.Intermediate Level IET Sessions – in addition to clearing your cellular memory, Intermediate level IET sessions also focus on clearing physical, emotional, mental and karmic energy imprints from your human energy field and leave in their place positive energy imprints.
3.Advanced Level IET Sessions – in addition to clearing your cellular memory and your human energy field, the Advanced level IET session can help you to discover your soul’s mission and attract members of your soul’s cluster to help you live your soul’s mission and bring your dreams alive.
4.Master-Instructor IET Sessions – in addition to clearing your cellular memory and your human energy field, and bringing your soul’s mission alive in your life, the Master-Instructor level IET session focuses on optimizing your 12 Strand DNA, which can further enhance your wellness at all levels and increases spiritual synchronicities that open the doorways to your destiny.

What you may feel after the session:
The effects of the session may continue to integrate for up to several days following the treatment.
During this time you may feel energized, light, focused, tired, unsettled, or somehow have a sense of being in transition.
Thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations may continue to surface as your body adjusts to its new energetic patterns.
All of these experiences are good and normal parts of the integration process. Be sure to rest, drink extra water, and be kind to yourself, especially over the next 48 hours.
Listen to what your body is telling you and take time to reflect on any experiences or insights that arise.

At what cost are your sessions?
A session of IET - as per Reiki cost above
Where do your sessions take place? - as per Reiki above

Are there certain restrictions for people such as age, health issues etc? - as per Reiki above
